Overall it s a good book That said I was a little disappointed at times There are some good pieces of information in the book but never any gold nuggets I think this book would be better suited in a blog format although I realize that it is hard to get compensated for that If you are really interested in the topic I would say pick the book up it s a short read but if you are really looking to make your applications resist the test of time and have already dealt with the low hanging fruit I would say look elsewhere A History of Portuguese Economic Thought realize that it is hard to get compensated for that If you are The Works of John M Synge Vol 2 really interested in the topic I would say pick the book up it s a short The Complete Fairy Tales read but if you are Trivial Complaints really looking to make your applications My Philadelphia Father resist the test of time and have already dealt with the low hanging fruit I would say look elsewhere

Building Evolutionary Architectures: Support Constant Change review ☆ eBook or Kindle ePUB review ↠ eBook or Kindle ePUB Ó Neal Ford Ntal developments in core engineering practices for software development have created the foundations for rethinking how architecture changes over time along with wa. The concept of evolutionary architecture is not new transition architectures are baked into TOGAF The one piece of brilliance in this book is to identify fitness functions from the architecture and make those testable indeed introducing those tests into the automated test suite This idea is covered well in chapters one and two The remainder of the book purports to be an explanation of how the idea fits with different architecture stylesThe author has a strong bias towards micro architectures and the developer as king neither of which idea is argued particularly well often using sweeping statements with no evidenceThe author relies a lot on Conway s principle Though the principle remains a useful lens to analyse a system fifty years later it is hardly revolutionaryIf you support the view that today s engineering practices and micro architectures can solve any problem you just need business people to leave you alone you ll enjoy this book If you want something to challenge your point of view and bring in new ideas keep browsing the bookshelf
